                                                                              6 March 1968

MEMORANDUM NO.  89 

SUBJECT:       SAFEGUARDING COVER SHEETS, REGISTRATION
                    CERTIFICATES AND LOCAL BOARD STAMPS

TO:               ALL LOCAL BOARDS

                    1. At the close of business each day, the
local board clerk shall place all cover sheets within a metal 
file cabinet.

                   2. At the close of business each day, all 
Registration Certificates, SSS Forms 2, and all local board 
stamps shall be placed in the metal supply cabinet which shall 
be locked. Also Store form 102 in supply cabinet.

                   3. Any supply of blank Forms 2 which the
local board clerk keeps on hand for use during the day, shall be 
kept in a secured location. As the need for use occurs, a 
single Form 2 shall be removed and used.

                   4. Strict adherence to this memorandum is
required in order that these sensitive items are properly safe-
guarded from fire, theft, mutilation etc.
