Description: Another letter of Philip Berrigan from prison to his brother, Daniel.
Transcription: into the case (the appeal). I for one, see
little point in waiting 8 mos. for
appeal, since we will at that time,
serve 1/3 of sentence.
McSorley was his usual grand
self. He came here after Tom and your-
self departed, and then stayed over-
night, merely to see us again yester-
day. Says he hes regaining his
strength after the pneumonia, but I
figure he still has a distance to go.
We have gotten to him but good - he still
speaks nostalgically of the old game, but
Mac has the equipment to know
where its at. We will try his hand one
of these days.
Concerning the efforts at creative
penmanship from Pa., it strikes me that
we put it under the pretense of con-
versations with you. It might be well
for you to keep an accurate calendar
of your visits with me, and to supplement
what we have with impressions of
your own. This would seem to me a
solid basis from which to work. I
tend to agree with you that if
people west of us take the bit in
their teeth, the whole assembly will
be looking out upon, rather than from
